Health & Safety Policies

Health Policy

We want to keep your child—and the children of other families—healthy and happy. Please look over our Well-Child Health Policy below when determining if you should bring your child to his/her ministry program.

A sick child may have one or more of the following symptoms:

  • A fever over 99.6 degrees currently or for the last 24 hours
  • Vomiting or diarrhea currently or for the last 24 hours
  • Runny nose with a thick, colored mucus
  • Unexplained rashes
  • Skin infections (impetigo, boils or ringworms)
  • Eye infections
  • Childhood diseases such as chicken pox, mumps, measles, rubella, pertussis or scarlet fever.

If a child currently has any of the above symptoms, the leader will not be able to accept the child into the classroom. If a child develops any of the above symptoms while in our care, we will ask you to come and get him/her.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and will help protect the health of all of our children.

Safety & Security Policies

  • Each child is checked into an electronic check-in system producing a matching parent/child security tag that is used for pick-up. Without proper parent tag, the child is not released until verification from a Sugar Hill Kids staff member.
  • All Sugar Hill Kids leaders have been properly background checked.
  • Sugar Hill Kids leaders are trained in emergency procedures including fire, weather, and lockdown.
  • We ask that parents, grandparents, or family friends remain outside of the classroom during drop-off/pick-up to ensure safety of the other children in the classroom.
  • Allergy alert signs are posted outside of classroom doors when children are tasting, touching, or smelling certain items.
  • To avoid allergic reactions, preschool children have morning snack approved by the Kids Ministry Office.
  • Our media release allows parents to protect their child by opting out of posting pictures on any of our social media platforms – just email kids@sugarhillchurch.com to let us know.
  • A uniformed officer assists our security team and is located between preschool and elementary areas each week.

Check-In & Pick-Up Procedures

  • Doors will open 15 minutes before each service time (9:00 and 10:45am).
  • When you arrive on campus, you can easily enter the Kids area through the Back Parking Lot & Entrance.
  • If it’s your child’s first time with us, we have our First Time Guest area ready to go just for you in the Back Entrance Lobby. Our team will be happy to help your child get checked in and show you around our area.
  • If you are a returning family, make sure to check your child in at one of our self check-in stations, which will print their name tag sticker and your pickup sticker.
  • Please hang on to your sticker, as you will be asked for it when you pick up your child!
  • After check-in, find your child’s classroom location on their name tag and look for signage that will help lead you in the right direction.
  • Outside food and toys can cause confusion and potential allergic reactions in our Sunday morning classrooms. To help us maintain a safe environment for all our kids, please keep all outside food/drinks and toys at home (or in your car).
Sunday mornings are the perfect opportunity for your child to meet new friends as they participate in dynamic large and small group activities and worship! Sugar Hill Kids provides engaging, hands-on programming designed to help your child experience and relate to our Creator. Through interactive large group worship, small groups, story-telling, games, and crafts, children are invited to explore what Jesus’ love means in their own lives and in the lives of others.

Preschool Programming

Our Preschoolers begin each service hour (9:15am & 11am) in their classrooms where they enjoy teaching, play time, and snacks. During the hour, twos - PreK spend some time in the Preschool Worship Room for an engaging Bible story video and fun worship songs, as well as time on the playground when the weather is nice!

Elementary Programming

Elementary age kids participate in a combination of Small Groups and Large Group Kids Worship during both 9:15am and 11am hours, with fresh activities and illustrations teaching the same truths each hour. No matter which service time(s) your family attends, they learn the truth of scripture and have a blast!

4th & 5th Grade

Our 4th & 5th graders have the unique opportunity to attend Main Worship service with their families at either the 9:15am or 11am service hour, and attend Elementary Programming the other hour. If your family only attends one hour, we encourage you to have your child go to worship one week and attend Elementary Programming the next.

Does your child need additional support?

Our SHINE ministry buddies are available to attend small or large group with friends who just need a little extra support. We also have a quiet, sensory environments each Sunday for friends who may be overwhelmed by the small or large group environments for their age. Our Kids SHINE room is open during both the 9:15am & 11am programming times, and our Adult SHINE room for adolescents and older is open during the 11am programming time.

From infants to elementary age children, small group leaders consistently build relationships with kids that allows them to feel safe, seen, and known. Programación Preescolar

Nuestros compañeros del ministerio SHINE están disponibles para asistir a grupos pequeños o grandes con niños que solo necesitan un poco de apoyo adicional. También contamos con ambientes tranquilos y sensoriales cada domingo para niños que puedan sentirse abrumados por los ambientes de grupos pequeños o grandes para su edad. Nuestra sala SHINE para niños está abierta durante el horario de programación de 9:15 a. m. y 11:00 a. m., y nuestra sala SHINE para adultos y adolescentes o mayores está abierta durante el horario de programación de 11:00 a. m.

Políticas de Salud y Seguridad

Política de salud

Queremos mantener a tus hijos (y a los niños de otras familias) sanos y felices. Revisa nuestra Política de salud infantil sana a continuación para determinar si debe llevar a tu hijo a su programa ministerial.

Un niño enfermo puede tener uno o más de los siguientes síntomas:

  • Fiebre superior a 99,6 grados actualmente o durante las últimas 24 horas
  • Vómitos o diarrea actualmente o durante las últimas 24 horas.
  • Secreción nasal con moco espeso y coloreado
  • erupciones inexplicables
  • Infecciones de la piel (impétigo, forúnculos o tiña)

Políticas de seguridad y protección

  • Cada niño es registrado en un sistema de registro electrónico que produce una etiqueta de seguridad correspondiente para padres e hijos que se utiliza para recogerlo. Sin la etiqueta adecuada de los padres, el niño no será liberado hasta que un miembro del personal de Sugar Hill Kids lo verifique.
  • Se han verificado adecuadamente los antecedentes de todos los líderes de Sugar Hill Kids.
