Chuck is the Lead Pastor at Sugar Hill Church. He’s been the Lead Pastor since 2011, but he’s been around Sugar Hill Church since 2008. Since day one, Chuck’s passion has been to encourage others with this one big belief: “You can do this! You can love God with all your heart, mind and soul and be normal!" You will often hear him say, “the Bible is a very big deal, Jesus is the very biggest deal and living that out always involves serving people here and around the globe.” Chuck's passion is to graciously lead people to Jesus and create a simple path for them to grow in their faith. Some of his goals are to reduce the dropout rate in our local schools, serve with our missions partners well, lead our church and families with a healthy fiscal plan, and in the future, to provide transitional housing for single moms. Chuck and his wife, Jenny, stay plenty busy with six daughters, three son-in-laws, five grandkids and an awesome dog, Kirby. They are foodies and enjoy eating through the Atlanta Magazine Top 50 Restaurants. Chuck’s favorite things to do include fishing, reading, writing and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!
Bobby serves as both the Associate Pastor and the Teaching Pastor at Sugar Hill Church. He has been on staff here since December, 2008 (where he started part-time in Student Ministry). Bobby’s passion comes from a love of seeing the light-bulb go on for folks. Whether it’s in a small group, a NEXT gathering, or during a weekend message, he loves seeing people “get it” and apply the truth to their lives. As one of our pastors here, Bobby helps individuals take the next steps in their faith, he helps the church fulfill its God-given mission, and he gives day-to-day direction to our Adult Ministries, Communications, and Finance teams. In his spare time, you can find Bobby riding his motorcycle, working out, reading, or eating gas station tacos. He and his wife, Laura, have been married since January, 2011, and they have a very “manly” 10lb cockapoo named Ollie. Zach serves as our Worship Pastor at Sugar Hill Church. He’s been attending Sugar Hill Church his entire life and was on staff for a number of years before becoming Worship Pastor in 2018. He loves seeing people engage in worship, expressing their gratitude for who God is, what Jesus did at the cross, and what the Spirit of God desires to do in us and through us as His church. As the Worship Pastor, he helps pastor worship experiences for our church, encouraging a culture of authentic and meaningful response to a worthy God, along with many other things behind the scenes. He really likes guitars, he really like gadgets, and he also really likes food. He loves spending time with his wife, Karen, his son, Caleb, and their two pups. Mauricio joined our team in March 2018 he serves as Pastor of Sugar Hill Español. He has been at Sugar Hill Church since 2017. Mauricio was raised in more than five Latin American countries which ignited in him a deep passion for international missions. He finds great joy in helping others find their place in the Kingdom by encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone in order to reach the lost for Christ in non-traditional ways. Mauricio is married to Laura and they have 4 beautiful children. Together, Mauricio and Laura founded and run a non-profit missions organization that targets unreached communities in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Brazil, and the USA. Mauricio is a “Motorhead” and loves working on his cars and motorcycles in his spare time.
Rhonda serves as our Kids Pastor at Sugar Hill Church, and she joined our team in 2017. She loves being at Sugar Hill Church, and her passion truly is to partner with parents so they can experience God’s goodness for them, and it will trickle down to their children. Her favorite thing is to see a child begin to truly grasp what God has done for them. As Kids Pastor, Rhonda oversees infants through fifth grade, Sunday mornings, home visits, child dedications, she lines up volunteers for Kids Ministry, and she leads SHC’s SHINE Ministry. In her spare time, Rhonda loves to visit her family in South Carolina, explore new towns, and go hiking.
Jerad leads SHC's Facilities Team as our Facilities and Operations Pastor. He first attended Sugar Hill Church in 2011, and joined our staff in 2022! His passion is discipleship through relationships. As the Facilities and Operations Pastor, he interacts with people throughout the facility all the time. He strives to develop life-changing relationships at SHC through each interaction. He desires to see the people of Sugar Hill Church and the Sugar Hill community come to know Jesus and grow closer in their walk with Jesus! As the Operations Pastor, he oversees our Facilities Team, maintains the SHC campus, communicates with all departments to make sure their weekday and weekend facility needs are met, and makes sure the vision of the church is reflected in the hands-on work we do to the facility. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends and his beautiful wife, Sydney, repairing shoes, hiking, and will use any excuse to eat Chick-Fil-A or hibachi!
Jordan serves as our Student Pastor. Jordan spent his formative years from 2004-2012 here at SHC, and he returned as he joined our staff in 2023. He has a heart for Students to develop a faith of their own, and he is passionate about communicating and teaching the next generation. As Student Pastor, he partners with the team to help give direction and further the mission of middle & high school ministry. In his free time, you can catch him spending his time with his wife Liz and his dog Brodie, playing ultimate frisbee in a local league, binging tv shows, and watching every Lakers game.
Parker serves on our Student team as the Associate Student Pastor. He joined our team in 2024, and is most excited about creating an environment where students feel welcomed, loved, and comfortable to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus. In his role as Associate Student Pastor, he helps plan and execute all our Student Programming. You'll frequently find him hosting crazy games or getting to know students! In his free time, he loves watching movies, baseball, and playing pickleball.
Neil serves as our Pastor of Pastoral Care and Senior Adult Ministry. He’s been at SHC since 2015, and he came on staff in August 2016. He has a passion to love on people who are ill and struggling, because that’s what ministry is all about. As our Pastor of Pastoral Care, Neil makes calls on people in the hospital, nursing homes, and home care. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his grandkids, play golf, and go fishing. He and his wife, Sharon, have three adult children, Don, Robert, and Heather.
Debbie is the Women's Pastor at Sugar Hill Church. She’s been on staff at Sugar Hill Church since 2017. Debbie’s passion comes from a place of wanting to teach other women profound and practical truths from the Bible. As the Women's Pastor, Debbie organizes and plans all women's events, teaches a weekly Bible Study, and leads other women in pursuit of the Lord any chance she gets! In her spare time, she loves to read, play tennis, and stay active with her four little dogs. She and her husband, Mark, have been married for over 26 years, and they have a daughter, Brittany, who is married to Adam.
Joe is the Elementary Pastor for Sugar Hill Church Kids Ministry. He’s been attending Sugar Hill Church since 1995. The passion Joe has comes from the idea that empowering parents to be the spiritual heroes of the home trickles down to allowing the kids to see the gospel lived out by example. As the Elementary Pastor, Joe helps plan and organize Sugar Hill Kid ministry programing and events from birth through 5th grade with a focus on elementary age children and large group activities both on and off campus. In his spare time, he loves hiking, camping, or fishing with his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Christy, and together they have three children Amber, Hope, and Hunter.
Austin serves as the Creative Arts Pastor on our Worship Ministry Team. Austin joined our team in May, 2018, but he’s been volunteering and serving since 2009. He is passionate about seeing people have a changed heart and a changed life through worshipping God and making Jesus the priority of their life. He has a love for music and the creative process of collaborating with our team to create a Jesus-centered worship experience. As the Creative Arts Pastor, Austin manages our technical resources, leads our production team, and works closely with our other Pastors to create a culture of worship that points to Jesus being the biggest deal. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his wife, Bea, playing guitar, and watching baseball.
Beth started her journey with Sugar Hill Church when she married her college sweetheart, Lamar. She joined our staff team in 2002 and partners with Pastor Chuck as his assistant and coordinates our Welcome Home teams. Her passion behind what she does comes from having moved a lot in her younger years always being the new person. Her hope is that everyone who connects with SHC has an incredible “Welcome Home” experience that leads them to Jesus. Being a history nerd, it was cool to learn that the Sudderth family has had 7 generations serve at SHC with connections to the founding of the church. Beth loves dating her husband, spending time with her grown children - Matthew & Ali and Andrew, being at the beach and the mountains, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, and often wonders “why eat regular Oreos when there are Mega Stuf Oreos?”
Alma joined the SHC team in February 2020 and serves as our Receptionist and Ministry Assistant. She has been a member of Sugar Hill Church since 2005 and this is where she began her walk with Christ. Alma grew up in Southern California and has called Sugar Hill home since 2000. Alma has a heart for making people feel seen and reminding them that we all have a purpose. She has three sons, Victor, Junior, and Christopher and a granddaughter, Lili. In her free time, Alma enjoys reading, traveling, serving with teen girls, and spending time with family and friends.
Stephanie joined the SHC team in March 2024 and serves as a Ministry Assistant. She loves Sugar Hill Church, and she loves the personal touch of welcoming people here and helping them feel seen. As Ministry Assistant, Stephanie supports the Welcome Home team and welcomes everyone who comes into the office. She coordinates communication with our first time guests and mails them gifts and information. She also helps compile our church prayer requests and mail cards to people we're praying for. She loves being with her family and being "Lolli" to her 3 grandchildren. She plays keyboard on our worship team, and she leads a GriefShare group here at SHC. She also loves to quilt and sew, and she has a degree in Mathematics from NC State.
Sue is Sugar Hill Church’s Records Assistant. She’s been at Sugar Hill Church since 1993, and she’s been on staff since 2002. She began as a volunteer, and has a passion to help and serve others. As the Records Assistant, Sue helps organize and input information from guest cards, and she also compiles a prayer list from the requests each week for our staff to pray over. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, hanging out with friends and family, and reading. She’s married to Dave, and they have two children, Nick and Shelby.
Vickie is the Hospitality Director at Sugar Hill Church. She and her family have been attending Sugar Hill Church since 2005, and she’s been on staff since 2007. Vickie is service-minded and loves to be able to use her gifts to serve others at SHC. As the Hospitality Director, Vickie is in charge of our coffee ministry and providing meals for church-wide and ministry-specific events. She loves to spend time with her husband, Tim, and their two boys Elijah and Graham.

Amanda serves as the Kids Ministry Events Coordinator at SHC. She and her husband, Michael, have attended Sugar Hill Church since 2004. Now, with 3 boys - Caleb, Silas, and Nathan, they attend and serve together in several on campus ministries. Amanda finds great joy in bringing families together for fun and fellowship, and she is super excited to be on the team here in Kids Ministry as Events Coordinator. Whenever possible, Amanda is spending time with her husband and kiddos at the ball-field, in the mountains, or playing a game at the kitchen table. Her goal as Special Events Coordinator is to create environments for families in the church and community to come together, build relationships, and have fun!
Suzanne serves as our Kids Ministry Childcare Coordinator at Sugar Hill Church. She's been part of our Weekday Preschool team since 2012, and began working in this role in 2022. She has a heart for children and their families and seeing how God can begin working in the hearts of children at an early age. She loves getting to partner with and support our church in creating opportunities for families to come together and grow in their faith. Her husband, David, and she have 5 children (Emma, Grace, Nathan, Anna & Eden). In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Elena serves on our Student Ministry team as the Student Ministry Assistant. Elena and her family have attended Sugar Hill Church since moving to Georgia in 2018. She has been married to her husband, Justin, since 2013, and they have two daughters, Norah and Madelyn. Elena has served in SHC Moms, Kids Ministry, and Student Ministry during her time at SHC. Elena has a passion for growing in her relationship with Christ while growing alongside her brothers and sisters in the church. She has a heart for the student community as she also works as an educator, teaching 6th grade, at Fideles Christian School. As the Student Ministry Assistant, Elena is involved behind the scenes in keeping the team’s ministry organized and prepared for their many events and regular programming each week. In her spare time, she loves to go to concerts, travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Dylan serves on our Student Ministries team as a College Intern. He has been attending Sugar Hill Church since he was a toddler, starting in Weekday Preschool, and growing up through the Kids and Students ministries. As a College Intern, Dylan helps set up and tear down environments for Student events, leads in our 6th grade boys small group, and assists wherever needed during student events to make it as fun and impactful as possible! He loves getting to help students learn and grow their relationship with each other and with God, and is very thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow in ministry.
Carolie serves in SHC’s Adult Ministry Department as the Adult Ministry Assistant. She and her family have loved calling Sugar Hill Church home since 2006. She has a passion to serve others and a heart to serve the Lord. As the Adult Ministry Assistant, Carolie is involved in a lot of the outward communication to Adult Groups, and she keeps groups organized and informed throughout the year. As Worship Pastor, she leads worship in Sugar Hill Español services, English gatherings, and Students Wednesday Night programming. Red has served on various worship teams since 2008 by singing, playing drums, and playing guitar. She has also pastored worship ministry for teens since 2015. Her passion roots from gratitude towards God and her love for His Church! She loves having the opportunity and honor of leading people into true, authentic worship in that freedom given to us. Red loves to travel and try all things adventure! She also love teaching drums & guitar to kids who have the desire to serve their church through music.

Josh joined our staff in 2023 to serve as the Production Director for our Worship Ministry. He loves being able to use technology to invite folks into and help lead our congregation in worship. As Production Director, he helps serve our church by managing the technical resources, leading our production teams, and working together with our Worship Team to provide a space for people to come together and worship God as one body. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their two boys, JR and Jax, disc golfing, and playing drums.
Parker is part of SHC’s team as the Digital Media Director, serving as a liaison between Communications Department and Worship Ministry. He’s been on staff at Sugar Hill Church since July 2021, and he has attended since 2011 after getting plugged into a small group. His greatest joy is being able to witness and capture the moment Jesus changes someone's life and then to be able to tell that story through video. As the Digital Media Director, Parker does all things related to videos, including everything from planning shoots to executing video projects. In his spare time, Parker enjoys flying with his pilots license, working out, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Kaela joined the SHC team in January 2024, and she serves as our Worship Ministry Assistant. She finds passion in what she does here, because choosing to worship the Lord during the most difficult moments of her life has been a major source of comfort and strength for her. She loves helping others experience the peace and joy that is found in worshiping Him. In her role as Worship Ministry Assistant, Kaela supports the Worship Ministry Team by taking care of many behind-the-scenes details in order for our church to be able to worship God together each week. She also provides care for our Worship Team so that every Worship Ministry volunteer feels seen, valued, and loved. She and her husband, Jared have one daughter, named Aubrey. They live in Peachtree Corners and believe what God is doing in and through this church is totally worth the half hour drive to get here!

As the Executive Director of Ministries for Sugar Hill Español and Beyond, Laura does anything and everything needed to make Sunday programming, events, and all things Español and Beyond Ministry happen. She has a heart for the details and the little things that help these ministries run smoothly. Her husband, Mauricio, also serves on staff as the Pastor of Sugar Hill Español. They met in Mexico on a mission trip and spent five years in Mexico serving as missionaries in the place where God brought them together. She has 4 children and spends most of her time attempting to keep up with them. In her spare time, Laura enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on, watching movies, drinking as much coffee as possible, and taking long, quiet leisurely walks through Barnes and Noble.
Blanca is part of our Beyond and Sugar Hill Español teams as the Administrative Director of Sugar Hill Español. She’s been attending Sugar Hill Español since 2018, and she’s been on staff since 2020. Her passion is to make people feel at home, and to help folks know that God see us all the same regardless of where we come from or what color skin we have. She wants to show everyone that His love is endless, His timing perfect, and He has a unique purpose for each one of us. As the Administrative Director of Sugar Hill Español, Blanca manages social media and communications, helps manage small groups, manages events for Sugar Hill Español and Beyond, and assists Pastor Mau with whatever he needs. In her spare time, Blanca loves to practice photography, go hiking, spend time with her son, Damian, attend food & cultural festivals, and explore nature.

Leah serves as our Finance Assistant. She’s been attending Sugar Hill Church since 2014, and she joined our staff in 2017. Leah began as a volunteer and has a passion to serve anywhere that she can! As the Finance Assistant, Leah helps process offerings, process bills, and do payroll. In her spare time, Leah enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Jeff, have three girls, Caitlyn, Kayleigh, and Kristen, and one pup, Max!
Beth started her journey with Sugar Hill Church when she married her college sweetheart, Lamar. She joined our staff team in 2002 and partners with Pastor Chuck as his assistant and coordinates our Welcome Home teams. Her passion behind what she does comes from having moved a lot in her younger years always being the new person. Her hope is that everyone who connects with SHC has an incredible “Welcome Home” experience that leads them to Jesus. Being a history nerd, it was cool to learn that the Sudderth family has had 7 generations serve at SHC with connections to the founding of the church. Beth loves dating her husband, spending time with her grown children - Matthew & Ali and Andrew, being at the beach and the mountains, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, and often wonders “why eat regular Oreos when there are Mega Stuf Oreos?”
Alma joined the SHC team in February 2020 and serves as our Receptionist and Ministry Assistant. She has been a member of Sugar Hill Church since 2005 and this is where she began her walk with Christ. Alma grew up in Southern California and has called Sugar Hill home since 2000. Alma has a heart for making people feel seen and reminding them that we all have a purpose. She has three sons, Victor, Junior, and Christopher and a granddaughter, Lili. In her free time, Alma enjoys reading, traveling, serving with teen girls, and spending time with family and friends.
Sue is Sugar Hill Church’s Records Assistant. She’s been at Sugar Hill Church since 1993, and she’s been on staff since 2002. She began as a volunteer, and has a passion to help and serve others. As the Records Assistant, Sue helps organize and input information from guest cards, and she also compiles a prayer list from the requests each week for our staff to pray over. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, hanging out with friends and family, and reading. She’s married to Dave, and they have two children, Nick and Shelby.

Amy serves on our staff as Ministry Assistant. She joined SHC and began working here in 2023. Amy loves Jesus, and she has a heart to serve people. She studied Business Administration in college, and she loves that she can use her administrative and organizational skills to serve the staff and assist the pastoral team with the smaller details while giving them time to focus on the bigger picture. She enjoys drinking coffee, reading or listening to audiobooks, and going on walks in the evenings. She has been married to Josh since 2009 and they have 2 boys, JR and Jaxson.
Kaela joined the SHC team in January 2024, and she serves as our Worship Ministry Assistant. She finds passion in what she does here, because choosing to worship the Lord during the most difficult moments of her life has been a major source of comfort and strength for her. She loves helping others experience the peace and joy that is found in worshiping Him. In her role as Worship Ministry Assistant, Kaela supports the Worship Ministry Team by taking care of many behind-the-scenes details in order for our church to be able to worship God together each week. She also provides care for our Worship Team so that every Worship Ministry volunteer feels seen, valued, and loved. She and her husband, Jared have one daughter, named Aubrey. They live in Peachtree Corners and believe what God is doing in and through this church is totally worth the half hour drive to get here!
Jerad leads SHC's Facilities Team as our Facilities and Operations Pastor. He first attended Sugar Hill Church in 2011, and joined our staff in 2022! His passion is discipleship through relationships. As the Facilities and Operations Pastor, he interacts with people throughout the facility all the time. He strives to develop life-changing relationships at SHC through each interaction. He desires to see the people of Sugar Hill Church and the Sugar Hill community come to know Jesus and grow closer in their walk with Jesus! As the Operations Pastor, he oversees our Facilities Team, maintains the SHC campus, communicates with all departments to make sure their weekday and weekend facility needs are met, and makes sure the vision of the church is reflected in the hands-on work we do to the facility. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends and his beautiful wife, Sydney, repairing shoes, hiking, and will use any excuse to eat Chick-Fil-A or hibachi!
Oscar is part of our Facilities Department as the Facilities Specialist. He’s been attending Sugar Hill Church since 2021, and he’s been on staff since 2023. As the Facilities Specialist, Oscar is in charge of the maintenance of our church as well as miscellaneous projects around our campus. He is passionate about worship, and he loves to volunteer with Sugar Hill Church and Sugar Hill Español to use his gifts. In his free time, he and his sister own a company where they hand make candles, room sprays, and perfumes!
Jeff is part of our Facilities Department as a Facilities Assistant. He’s been around SHC since 1973, and he joined our staff in 2002! His passion is to play a role in the behind-the-scenes in order to have a part in providing a way for someone to experience the truth in God’s Word. He lives by the idea that you can never give up on H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everyday). As the Facilities Assistant, he helps set up rooms for any events, but he also makes sure things are back in order by Sunday morning. In his spare time, you can find Jeff resting and spending time with his wife, Rhonda, and his children, Brian, Tommy, Haley, and Charlie.
Daniel serves on our Facilities Team as a Facilities Assistant! He began working at SHC in 2023. As our Facilities Assistant, Daniel helps maintain and repair the facility, as well as get it ready for whatever event we have coming up next! He's passionate about what he does here because he desires to make sure our facilities are presentable so that folks have the best experience; he wants SHC to be a place people enjoy being at.
Karen is part of SHC’s Communications Department as the Communications Coordinator. Karen has been attending Sugar Hill Church since 2005, and joined our staff in 2017. She loves having a part in communicating about all the cool things that are going on around here! As the Communications Coordinator, Karen collaborates with our ministries on all things communications and graphic design related, which includes: emails, social media posts, message slides, print materials & magazines, websites, t-shirts & swag, and many other things. In her spare time, she loves to snuggle her puppies, spend time with friends, and work on house projects. She and her husband, Zach, have been married since 2011 and they love spending time with their son, Caleb.
Parker is part of SHC’s team as the Digital Media Director, serving as a liaison between Communications Department and Worship Ministry. He’s been on staff at Sugar Hill Church since July 2021, and he has attended since 2011 after getting plugged into a small group. His greatest joy is being able to witness and capture the moment Jesus changes someone's life and then to be able to tell that story through video. As the Digital Media Director, Parker does all things related to videos, including everything from planning shoots to executing video projects. In his spare time, Parker enjoys flying with his pilots license, working out, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Lauren has been on staff as our Communications Assistant since summer 2024, but she's been part of our church family since she was in 1st grade. She was baptized here in 2009, served as a Student Intern before she graduated in 2020, and has served as a Student Small Group Leader ever since. As Communications Assistant, Lauren helps create all things communications and promotions related, including social media posts, event photography, weekly emails, graphics, and more. She loves getting to be creative while fostering her relationship with the Lord and using her work as an avenue to pour into and encourage others! In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, going to concerts, and antiquing.
Julie is the Director of Weekday Preschool. She’s been at SHC Weekday since 2000. She is most passionate about sharing the love of Christ with children, parents, and staff members and truly ‘’doing life’’ together. This results in men, women, and children coming into a relationship with Jesus Christ and one another as a result of this Weekday and Childcare ministry. As the Director of Weekday Preschool & Childcare Ministries, she oversees a staff of 50+ women leading preschool for over 300 children, ages 15 months - 5 years. In her spare time, she likes to play tennis, travel, and spend time hanging out with her family (Husband, Wayne, and Kids, Josh and Savannah, and their 4 lb. Yorkie, Lil’ Man). She also enjoys managing our SHC Store, which allows her to design and create new Sugar Hill merchandise for our folks to enjoy… Life truly is ‘’sweeter’’ on the hill.
