“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
Have you ever worried about a test, what you're going to wear, or what others think of you? Jesus is telling us that worrying about these things isn't necessary because God is taking care of us, just like He takes care of the birds. You're super important to God, more than you might realize.
Take a few minutes and pray. Here is a sample prayer you that you can make your own:
“Lord, when I start to worry about stuff, help me remember that You're looking out for me. Help me to trust in Your care and spend more energy on living life than worrying about it. Lord, allow your Holy Spirit to bring me peace in times of anxiousness or worry. Amen.”
Whenever you catch yourself worrying this week, pause and look around for something in nature—a tree, a bird, the sky—and let it remind you of God's care for you. Then, let go of one worry and replace it with a positive thought or action.
