Measuring Spiritual Health | Learning to Fight and Win
If that’s you, friend, I want you to hear this:
You’re Not Alone in the Struggle
“I am writing to you who are young in the faith because you have won your battle with the evil one. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one.”
(1 John 2:13b–14b)
John isn’t talking about your age—he’s talking about your stage.
“You are strong. You have overcome. God’s word lives in your hearts.”
But how do you stay strong when life is punching back?
“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”
(1 John 2:15–16)
The word “world” here isn’t about creation or culture. It’s about the systems and values that pull your heart away from God. It’s the pressure to prove yourself, to have more, to be more, to chase something that will never satisfy.
“You’re fighting the wrong battle.”
Here’s the truth: The enemy doesn’t need to destroy you. He just needs to distract you.
The real question for the day is this… Where Does Real Strength Come From?
“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”
(1 John 4:4)
But God didn’t just guide me through it; He brought a faith that fought for me to thrive despite it. I couldn’t see it during the struggle, but it became clearer with each small step of greater faith that overcame stagnating fear!
God wasn’t waiting for me to be enough. He was inviting me to lean on His enough.
Friends, you’re not strong because of your resume—you’re strong because of your source.
That’s what John says: “You belong to God. You have already won.”
You can’t fight lies if you don’t know the truth.
Stop trying to battle in secret. Isolation is the enemy’s playground.
Don’t just attend church—get out there and be the church.
God isn’t waiting for you to be perfect to give you power. He gives you the power to keep pressing forward.
