Imagine Even More - Imagine the Burden - October 12, 2025

“God often begins His greatest work in us by breaking our hearts for what breaks His.”

SEE WHAT GOD SEES

Nehemiah 1:2–4 — “Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem. They said to me, ‘Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.’ When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.”

Seeing what God sees means letting His compassion become your conviction.

  1. You notice what others overlook.
  2. You step toward the mess instead of away from it.
  3. You trust that God can rebuild what looks beyond repair.

“Before God rebuilds through you, He often breaks you for what’s broken.”

PRAY BEFORE YOU MOVE

Nehemiah 1:4-11 — When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven. I said, “I beseech You, O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who preserves the covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Your servants, confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You; I and my father’s house have sinned. We have acted very corruptly against You and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses. Remember the word which You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples;but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.’ They are Your servants and Your people whom You redeemed by Your great power and by Your strong hand. O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man.”

Prayer is the most productive thing you can do before you do anything else.

  • Pause before reacting.
  • Ask the better question.
  • Listen longer.
  • Obey quickly.

“Prayer is where vision takes shape.”

MOVE WITH GOD’S HEART

Nehemiah 1:11 — “O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man. I was cupbearer to the king.”

God has already placed everything you need for His purpose within your reach.

  1. Recognize your assignment where you are.
  2. Leverage what’s already in your hands.
  3. Be faithful in the ordinary.

“God doesn’t need perfect people—He uses available ones.”

God does the miraculous through the obedient.

“It all starts with a burden—but it never ends there. It ends with a legacy.”
