What’s Your Longest Streak?
What if the most important streak in your life isn’t on a screen, but in your soul?
“But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do” (Psalm 1:2–3).
That’s a Jesus Streak.
Small, daily, ordinary habits that quietly, steadily, reshape your life from the inside out.
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13).
The desire is a gift. The power is a gift.
“I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t” (Romans 7:18-19).
God is not waiting for perfection.
He is thrilled with movement.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin” (Zechariah 4:10).
He rejoices when you begin.
He sings over day one of a streak.
So this is not a guilt trip chat.
This is an invitation.
Not vague or general: “Thanks for everything, God.”
Specific, concrete, written gratitude.
“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
Because gratitude is more than manners.
Gratitude re-trains your brain.
Not “read the whole Bible this year, or you’re a failure.”
Lean. Focused. Sustainable.
“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105).
“This Book of Instruction… meditate on it day and night… Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” (Joshua 1:8).
Because the goal isn’t “check the box.”
The goal is to live so soaked in the words and ways of Jesus that when life bumps you…Jesus spills out.
“The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life” (John 6:63).
That’s a Jesus Streak.
Not emptying your mind.
Filling your mind with God - with Good.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace…” (Philippians 4:6–7).
After you read, sit for 3 minutes.
Ask:
"Jesus, what do You want me to remember from what I just read?”
“Where do You want to meet me today?”
Then:
Breathe. Listen.
Talk to Him about your day, your fears, your family, your decisions.
The world trains your nervous system to live on high alert.
Jesus trains your nervous system to live in peace.
Here’s a simple rhythm—about 10–15 minutes total.
“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant” (Ecclesiastes 11:4).
Don’t wait for perfect.
Start with real.
Seven days. Not forever. Just next week.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin” (Zechariah 4:10).
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23).
You’re not starting from your failure.
You’re starting from His mercy.
Maybe your next step is intentionality.
Or maybe your next step is to invite somebody else into the streak.
To text a friend, “Hey, I’m doing this 7-day Jesus Streak. Want in?”
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24).
You might discover that the greatest streak of your life isn’t something you did for God…but the unbroken, never-ending streak of His love for you.
