GET AFTER IT: WEEK 2
YOU’VE GOTTA DO YOU
August 18, 2024

Let me state that you are directly responsible for your personal and spiritual growth and discipleship—not the church, not your Group, but YOU!

Philippians 4:19
"And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

1. Recognize God's Provision in Your Life

"God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."

We often miss God's provision because we're looking for it in the wrong places or in the wrong forms.

The pencil hasn't changed. What changed was the recognition of its potential and the hand that wielded it.

2. Steward Your Resources Wisely

1 Peter 4:10
“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”

"Stewardship is the act of organizing your life so that God can spend you."

It's not about having the "right" tools or abilities; it's about being willing to use whatever God has placed in our hands.

3. Embrace Your Unique Calling

1 Corinthians 12:4-7
4 "There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. 7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other."

"God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called."

4. Start Where You Are Right Now

Zechariah 4:10
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…”

"Your greatest impact for the Kingdom of God may not be in some far-off mission field, but right where you are, in the ordinary moments of your everyday life. Don't wait for a grander stage or a more opportune time. Your gift is needed now, in this place, in this moment. Be fully present, be authentically you, and watch how God uses your faithfulness to paint eternity on the canvas of today."
— Sarah Bessey

“Dream big. Start small. But most of all, start."

5. Trust in God's Multiplication

Matthew 14:17-21
17 "But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!" they answered. 18 "Bring them here," he said. 19 Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. 20 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. 21 About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!

"Little is much when God is in it."

"God is not looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him."

1. Take inventory of what God has already placed in your hands - your skills, resources, relationships, and opportunities.
2. Choose one area where you can start using what you have more intentionally to grow spiritually and bless others.
3. Take one small step in that direction this week.
4. Get in a Group - Go on Mission - Live what you claim to believe!
5. Give what you can!
