Message from Bobby McGraw on August 4, 2022
In this podcast episode, Pastor Bobby McGraw offers a simple but powerful encouragement: choose to trust God today. He points to Hebrews 6:18-19 and Hebrews 10:23, reminding us that God’s promises are unchanging, and He is always faithful. In moments of uncertainty or fear, we can anchor ourselves in the truth that God never fails to keep His word. No matter what challenges we face, we have a choice—trust in God's faithfulness or let fear take over. Today, choose to trust Him, because God is faithful.
Well, hey friends, welcome to another edition of the weekday podcast. It's always such a joy to be with you. Today is a simple encouragement and maybe a challenge for all of us, myself included, is to choose to trust God today. Choose to trust Him today.
Hebrews 6 verses 18 through 19 says this, that God has given both His promise and His oath. Then He goes on to say, these two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. There are going to be times, absolutely, there are going to be times that we need an anchor. We need something that is firm, that we can hold on to. And the reminder of the preacher in the book of Hebrews is that we can trust God. That God is a promise-keeping God, that when God makes a promise, He always keeps it. He never says one thing and does something else.
In our world, maybe we're used to people making a promise. Maybe we're used to them forgetting it or just not following through. But if God makes a promise, He always keeps His promise. In fact, later in Hebrews, in chapter 10 verse 23, it says, He who promised is faithful. Let me ask you a question. Does that matter? Does it matter that God is faithful? Does it matter that God keeps His promise? Does it matter that God is faithful, that He has integrity? Absolutely, it does.
One of the reasons why is because life is going to happen. Maybe you end up at the children's hospital in the middle of the night and you're wondering what is going on with your child. Maybe you find out that there's a loved one hundreds of miles away that is going through a scary medical situation. There are going to be moments where we have a choice. Am I going to choose God and am I going to walk in faith or am I going to let fear dictate my life? Am I going to pick faith or fear? Am I going to pick God's purpose or some random thing in the world?
God is a God who knows. God is a God who cares. God is a God that is actually present in that moment. I want to encourage you to choose to trust Him. Choose to trust His promises. Choose to believe that God can do something great even in the middle of dark, murky circumstances that look so bad. Choose to believe God. Why? Because God is faithful. He really is. I want to encourage you today. Choose to trust God.
Have a great day. We'll see you back here soon.
