Welcome to the weekday podcast! We're so excited you're here. Today, Bobby dives into a powerful reminder—everyone is invited to God's party. Just like the biggest celebration you could ever imagine, God's guest list includes everyone. No matter who you are or where you're from, there's a spot for you. Bobby breaks down Acts 2:39 and reminds us that Jesus' message is for all—insiders, outsiders, and everyone in between. Here at Sugar Hill Church, we’re not a museum for the perfect but a family for those seeking, hurting, or just looking for a place to belong. So, who will you invite to this incredible party? Remember, the invitation is open, and God’s love is waiting. Let’s make space for everyone to experience Jesus!
Well, hey friends, welcome back to the weekday podcast. My name is Bobby. We're so glad you're here today.
(0:27 - 0:36)
Today, I want to think about this idea of being invited to a party. God has a party. He's got an invitation and everyone's name is on the list.
(0:36 - 0:50)
Picture this, you're throwing the biggest, the most epic party ever. Who's on your guest list? Well, in God's kingdom, the answer is simple, everyone. When Peter preached that day in Jerusalem, Acts chapter two, he dropped a massive bombshell.
(0:51 - 1:17)
The message of Jesus wasn't just for a select few, it was for everyone, near and far, young and old, insider and outsider. In Acts 2.39, it says this, for this promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord God will call to himself. Now, I know what you're thinking, everyone? But what about fill in the blank? And that's where it gets beautiful and messy all at the same time.
(1:17 - 1:32)
Yes, everyone, the religious folks, the rebels, the ones who have it all together and the ones that feel like a hot mess. And here's the kicker, you can actually belong before you fully believe. Our church here at Sugar Hill Church is not a museum for perfect people.
(1:32 - 1:44)
It's a hospital for the hurting, a family for the lonely, and it's a home for the sinker. But there's a tension here. While everyone's invited, there's only one way in and that is Jesus.
(1:44 - 1:56)
It's an inclusive invitation with an exclusive way. Jesus is on every road, but he's also the only road. So what does that mean for us as a family of faith? It means that we open our arms wide.
(1:56 - 2:16)
It means that we welcome the unwelcome, that we love the unloved, and we invite the uninvited, that we create a space where everyone can encounter Jesus no matter where they're coming from. And so this week, I want you to just think about who can you invite? Remember that God's party has an open invitation and everyone's name is on the list. Have a great day.
(2:16 - 2:25)
We'll see you back here soon.
