In this episode of the Weekday Podcast, Pastor Chuck concludes his three-part series on Matthew 6:33 by emphasizing God's promise to provide for our needs when we seek His kingdom first. He highlights the importance of prioritizing God above all else, leading to righteous living and true provision—not necessarily what we want, but what He knows we need. Through a story of a woman who found purpose after losing her job, he illustrates how aligning with God’s will opens unexpected doors. He reminds listeners that God's provision may come in different forms—strength, wisdom, or community—but it is always exactly what we need. Pastor Chuck encourages taking this promise personally, trusting that seeking God's kingdom brings everything into its rightful place.

Hi everybody. This is Pastor Chuck Allen and we're wrapping up this three part series on Matthew 6:33 on the weekday podcast. We've explored focus and priority. And today we're unpacking this incredible promise. And he will give you everything that you need.

Now, if I go back to Matthew 6:33, here's what Jesus says. "Seek the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously and he will give you everything you need." Again, notice the order. When we seek Jesus, which is the kingdom of God, we do that and put the priority correctly, above all things. Then we have an opportunity to live righteously. And through that, he provides everything we need. I mean, this is a super cool promise, and it's not nearly as hard as we've made it.

You know, I've always been struck by the simplicity and profundity of the promise. Notice it doesn't say everything you want or everything you think you need. It's about God's perfect understanding of our needs.

I heard a conversation with a woman, she who'd lost her job during a company restructuring. She hadn't done anything wrong. It just kind of. She was describing to me how she just lost her job. Well, she told me something pretty remarkable. I thought it was fascinating. I thought I'd share it with you. She says, "Pastor Chuck, when I finally stopped frantically trying to control everything and started seeking God's kingdom, first doors opened that I never even knew existed." Now, she didn't see them from the front side, of course. I mean, you gotta get priorities right. And in that moment you freak out, right? I mean, I would. She found not just a new job, but a new purpose that aligned perfectly with her gifts.

Now, this promise is not some cosmic vending machine where we put in kingdom seeking and get out material prosperity. It's so much more beautiful than that. And it's much more complex than that. When we align our lives with God's kingdom, we begin to want what he wants. Our definition of need transforms. Now think about it this way. When we seek God's kingdom first, we gain his perspective. And suddenly we see that what we thought we needed might have been holding us back from what he wanted to give us. It's like trading in a flashlight for the sun.

Here's what I've learned. God's provision often looks different than we expect, but it's always better than what we could have planned. Sometimes the provision is strength to endure. Sometimes it's wisdom to choose. Sometimes it's community to support us. Always it's exactly, exactly, exactly what we need.

So before I close, I want to encourage you take this promise personally. God isn't just talking about generic provision. He's talking about your specific needs in your specific situation at this specific time. Friend. This is Pastor Chuck Allen reminding you that when we seek first his kingdom, everything else finds its proper place. Thanks for joining me on this journey through Matthew 6:33. And until I catch you next time, rest in the promise of God's perfect provision.

Thanks so much for joining me on today's Weekday podcast.
