Hi, everybody, and welcome to the weekday podcast. My name is Chuck Allen, and I am so grateful that you're here with me today. On today's weekday podcast, I want to talk about something we all need forgiveness in the workplace.
Not just forgiving others, not just forgiving yourself, but your boss and your co workers.
This is one of the most difficult things I think, for many of us to deal with is it seems natural in a believer's life that we should forgive other believers. It seems natural that we might even forgive our neighbor. It seems natural that we can forgive parents, or we could forgive, you know, someone who we didn't. Didn't really have to engage with. But those folks that at the workplace, those folks that maybe don't treat you like you think you deserve, etc. Well, the Bible says in First John 19, if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. That's from the new living translation, but did you catch it? He is faithful. It is in God's very nature to forgive, and he is calling us to do the same. You know, I took a course in Hebrew, and one of the first things you learn in Hebrew is that none of the letters look familiar. And the second thing is that Hebrew reads from right to left instead of left to right. It's backwards compared to what we're used to. God's providence is like reading Hebrew. Sometimes you have to look back to see how faithful he's been. And then you realize he's been there even when you didn't notice. And his work was. Was in place when you didn't even know it. Maybe you've made some mistakes at work. Maybe you've had a bad season. Maybe you've had a difficult stretch.
Maybe you've been too harsh with a coworker, or you've failed to meet your boss's expectations, no matter how lofty they might be. Maybe you're carrying guilt from things that you wish you'd done differently. Friend, hear this. God's faithfulness covers even those moments. He. He forgives us and he calls us to forgive ourselves and others. We've mentioned this a lot lately, but Ephesians 4:32 says, Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God, through Christ, has forgiven you, friend. If God can forgive us, we can forgive ourselves, and we can forgive our boss. And our co workers. So today, take a moment, look back, see God's faithfulness. Let go of the guilt. Forgive yourself, your boss, the people you work with, maybe even a client or someone who's tried to take advantage of you. God's grace, my friend, is bigger than their mistakes. And God's grace is bigger than your mistakes. And remember, he is God, we are not. It is in his nature to be faithful even when we aren't. So sometimes we may have to stop and literally say, lord, would you teach me how to pray so that I could step into a season of forgiveness? Lord, thank you for your faithfulness. Help us to forgive as you forgive, to let go of old wounds and to walk forward in your grace. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Thanks so much for joining me. And remember, God's faithfulness is the foundation for forgiveness, yours and everyone else's. We'll be back again tomorrow with another weekday podcast and I want to encourage you. Stay the course, find forgiveness and walk in freedom. Have a great day. Bye bye now.
