Formation is happening to us all the time. The only question is — by whom?
Jesus didn’t just invite people to believe in Him. He invited them to follow Him — on purpose, with intention, and in relationship. And that same invitation is open to us today. We’re going to help people see how spiritual formation works, why it matters, and how to take one step this week toward becoming more like Jesus.
1.What stood out to you most from tonight’s message?
2. Who or what do you think has shaped you the most over the last 12 months?
3. In your daily routines, where do you see culture shaping you more than Christ?
4. What would it look like to “follow Jesus on purpose” this week?
5. What’s one practical step you can take to apprentice under Jesus in your actual schedule?
6. Jesus said, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” What does that say about your identity and purpose?
7. How does the idea of transformation — not just information — challenge how you approach your spiritual life?
8. What lies or cultural messages are you tempted to conform to?
9. What does the renewing of your mind look like for you personally? How do you do it?
10. Why do you think it’s easy to agree with Jesus but harder to apprentice under Him?
11. Who in your life already models what it looks like to follow Jesus closely? What can you learn from them?
12. How would your relationships look different if you filtered them through the lens of following Jesus?
13. In what area of your life do you most need to be “formed” rather than informed?
14. What voices or influences do you need to turn down this week in order to better hear Jesus?
15. How can this group support each other in becoming more like our Rabbi?
