“What fills your mind will shape your life.”
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind...” (Romans 12:2a, NASB95)
How do I change the way I think?
“Change your thoughts, and you’ll change your life.”
“Do not be conformed to this world...” (Romans 12:2a, NASB95)
Conformed: Outwardly shaped, pressed into a patter that isn’t really yours.
If you don’t examine your thoughts, your thoughts will end up examining you.
•Pause before reacting.
•Name the pattern.
•Invite God in.
•Redirect with Scripture.
“Your thoughts are the tracks your life will run on."
“...so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable
and perfect.” (Romans 12:2c, NASB95)
•Pay attention to the patterns.
•Hold it up to Scripture.
•Bring it into the light.
•Name it out loud.
“What you don’t expose, you’ll end up excusing
“...but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...” (Romans 12:2b, NASB95)
“For every lie you’ve believed, God has a truth that can set you free.”
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17,
NASB95)
Faith grows when you keep putting God’s truth in front of you, over and over again.
•Listen to Scripture
•Speak declarations of truth
•Sing worship songs
•Pray Scripture out loud.
•Invite accountability.
“Faith is fueled by hearing truth on repeat.
Transformation doesn’t come from trying harder, but by letting God renew
your mind.
“When God renews your mind, He rewrites your story—and that story is better than
you ever imagined.
